According to reputable journalists James Ducker and Rob Dawson, who closely follow Manchester United, the club was unwilling to pay for a loan deal that only benefitted Bayern Munich.

United Deemed the Price Too High
Bayern Munich demanded around £4.6 million to loan out Mathys Tel. However, Manchester United felt they were being asked to finance his development for Bayern’s gain.

Additionally, the club considered the price too high for a 19-year-old who has yet to prove himself at the highest level. Tel has struggled for game time at Bayern Munich and has not yet made a significant breakthrough.

As a result, it appears Manchester United will not be signing replacements for Marcus Rashford and Antony, who have both left the club on loan.
