Robin van Persie has officially taken on a new role. The Dutch football legend, who previously starred for Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United, has been appointed Feyenoord’s new head coach.

Club icon returns
Van Persie takes over the reins after Danish coach Brian Priske was dismissed on 10 February. The 41-year-old has signed a contract lasting until the summer of 2027.
– We are delighted to appoint a true club icon like Robin van Persie as Feyenoord’s new coach. Robin knows the club extremely well and understands exactly what it takes to achieve results, said director Dennis te Kloese to Feyenoord’s website.

Te Kloese also highlighted that Van Persie’s international experience will be crucial for player development.

Experienced assistant added to the staff
To support Van Persie in his new role, René Hake joins as assistant coach, taking up his role in the technical staff with immediate effect.
