Out of the Blue: Manchester United Sign Hojlund Rival

Manchester United are set to sign El Bilal Touré, currently under contract with Atalanta. The move comes as head coach Rúben Amorim remains dissatisfied with his attacking options, including Danish striker Rasmus H0jlund.

This is reported by French outlet Foot Mercato.

A Quiet Transfer Window Could Soon Change

So far, it has been a quiet transfer window for the Red Devils, but that could soon change.

Danish defender Patrick Dorgu is on the verge of swapping Lecce for Manchester United and is expected to undergo his medical examination over the weekend.

Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel has also been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford after rejecting an approach from Tottenham.

El Bilal Touré on United’s Radar

Now, however, United appear to have surprisingly set their sights on El Bilal Touré, who is currently on loan at Stuttgart from Atalanta.

Viktor Gyökeres, Victor Osimhen, and Mathys Tel are also on Amorim’s shortlist, but all are considered difficult to sign, prompting the club to increase their interest in Touré.

Rasmus Hojlund was sold by Atalanta, who then invested €20 million to sign Touré from Spanish side Almeria.

He failed to meet expectations in his debut season in Italy and was subsequently loaned out to Stuttgart in August 2024.

Stuttgart Consider Purchase

The 23-year-old Touré has netted three times in 13 Bundesliga matches but has remained sidelined due to a serious injury.

Despite this, Stuttgart are reportedly considering activating the purchase option in his loan deal, worth €12 million.

It is then seen as a realistic possibility that he could be sold to Manchester United for €17 million.

This would further increase the competition in attack for Rasmus Højlund, who has struggled to find form this season at Old Trafford.
