No Doubt – Manchester United to Sign Star Striker This Summer

Manchester United did not secure any attacking reinforcements in winter, but a star striker is expected to arrive at Old Trafford this summer, according to Sky Sports.

Manchester United’s Lack of Attacking Options

Manchester United did not sign any attacking players to replace Marcus Rashford and Antony, both of whom have been loaned out to Aston Villa and Real Betis, respectively.

However, the Red Devils are set to bring in at least one star striker this summer, reports Sky Sports.

Patrick Dorgu and Aiden Heaven are two young prospects introduced in this weekend’s home match against Crystal Palace. Yet, the Old Trafford crowd was left waiting for an attacking reinforcement, something the club has long been in dire need of.

Rashford has moved to Aston Villa, and reports suggest that the loan move is likely to become permanent. Additionally, Brazilian Antony has joined La Liga side Betis on loan, where the winger recently had a remarkable debut.

Viktor Gyökeres Linked with Manchester United

Speculations have been rife over who United might sign to bolster their attack. Attempts to sign Mathys Tel, Christopher Nkunku, or prodigy Geovany Quanda have so far been unsuccessful. However, Sky Sports now claims there is no doubt that Rúben Amorim will have a star striker at his disposal this summer.

The Swedish Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyökeres is the player United have been eyeing for some time.

Amorim on Gyökeres:

Before Manchester United appointed Rúben Amorim, the Portuguese manager commented on a potential reunion with Sporting CP star Viktor Gyökeres:

“No, no, no. I can’t joke about this right now. It was hard for me to leave the club, and if I start joking about Gyökeres, I’ll get into trouble. This is my city, my country, and I will respect that. Viktor has to stay there until the end of the season, and then maybe his life will continue elsewhere,” stated Rúben Amorim.

Viktor Gyökeres responded to Amorim’s departure by saying:

“We will naturally miss him a lot as we have achieved a lot together. We will miss him and other staff members. But they have left us, so we must move forward and face the next challenge,” explained the Swedish superstar.
