Manchester City already has a ‘secret signing’ in place

City working behind the scenes on reinforcements

Manchester City is quietly working to strengthen Pep Guardiola’s squad. After a rough patch that has left them trailing both Liverpool and Arsenal in the Premier League, the reigning English champions were active in the January transfer window.

The club secured signings such as Vitor Reis, Abdukodir Khusanov, Omar Marmoush, and Nico Gonzalez.

There were also widespread reports that City had a strong interest in Andrea Cambiaso, one of Juventus’ key players.

However, the move ultimately did not materialize as The Cityzens shifted their focus to other areas.

Secret agreement with Juventus

Now, Tuttosport reports that Manchester City and Juventus have already reached a secret agreement.

However, speculation suggests that The Sky Blues could revisit the Cambiaso deal in the summer.

A potential replacement for Walker

Pep Guardiola and his team are searching for a long-term replacement for Kyle Walker, who left the club for AC Milan. Cambiaso could be the ideal candidate.

With a pre-agreed transfer fee, there should be no major obstacles to finalizing the deal.

Guardiola on City’s winter signings

Guardiola recently spoke about the club’s heavy activity in the January window:

– The club decided to sign a player for the final third of the pitch, someone with talent, goal sense, work rate, assists, and set-piece ability.

– Apart from Aymeric Laporte, we have never made a winter signing. However, this season was an exception. We had to act to ensure we finish the season as strongly as possible, Guardiola stated.

Several of the new signings could get a chance to prove themselves when City face Leyton Orient in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday.
