Busy Summer: Liverpool Targeting Five New Signings

Liverpool had a quiet January transfer window, but the summer of 2025 is set to be a completely different story.

According to transfer expert Graeme Bailey, speaking to Rousing the Kop, Liverpool are planning to sign five new players: two full-backs, a central midfielder, a forward, and a goalkeeper.

– We will see some changes, but there aren’t many weaknesses in the squad. A lot will depend on the three big names with expiring contracts – Van Dijk, Salah, and Trent, Bailey stated.

He expects changes in both full-back positions, especially with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future uncertain. Kostas Tsimikas could also be on his way out.

– I don’t think Van Dijk will leave the club, so I don’t see much happening in central defence this summer. However, it’s an area they will monitor closely for the medium term, Bailey explained.

Up front, Liverpool could see some major changes as well.

– Salah might leave, particularly with the huge pressure from the Saudi Pro League. They are ready to make him the highest-paid player in the world.

– But I don’t think he will be the only one departing. I have a feeling Darwin Núñez is entering the final months of his Liverpool career, Bailey added.

Liverpool were linked with Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2024, but no move materialised. Despite Ryan Gravenberch and Curtis Jones showing great development, the midfield could still see reinforcements.

– They are very happy with Jones and Gravenberch, but they are short in this area and are looking for new players, Bailey said.

Additionally, a new goalkeeper could also arrive in the summer.

Squad Overhaul on the Horizon

With Liverpool set for a busy summer, multiple positions could see changes. The big question is who will leave the club – and who will come in to replace them.
