Arne Slot doesn’t trust these three Liverpool players
Arne Slot has had a brilliant start at Liverpool, but there are concerns beneath the surface regarding three players he seemingly doesn’t trust.
A promising start with hidden challenges
Arne Slot’s debut season at Liverpool has been impressive. The club leads the Premier League by eight points, is preparing for the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle on March 16 at Wembley, and has advanced in the Champions League, where Paris Saint Germain awaits.
Internal squad issues
Despite the success, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher highlights that Slot doesn’t fully trust all his players. Three squad players are receiving limited playing time: Federico Chiesa, Wataru Endo, and Harvey Elliott.

Carragher reveals Slot’s considerations
In a column for The Telegraph, Carragher stated:
“The Liverpool manager tends to favor the same 14-15 starters. He doesn’t seem to trust Harvey Elliott or Wataru Endo unless he has no other options. Federico Chiesa has also failed to make an impact, suggesting Slot doesn’t believe the Italian is a game-changer.”
The match that could reveal Slot’s strategy
Liverpool faces a tough trip to the blue side of Manchester on Sunday, where Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City awaits. It remains to be seen whether Arne Slot will adjust his strategy and give more playtime to the three overlooked players.
