Injury issues impact season
The Liverpool-born striker missed most of the first half of this season with a back injury. He made his comeback for The Reds in the League Cup quarter-final against Southampton last December.

Last month, Danns scored in the FA Cup against Accrington Stanley and earned his first start under Arne Slot in the Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven. Shortly after, he was loaned to Sunderland for the remainder of the season.

Rehabilitation continues
Although the loan move is complete, the injury has prevented Danns from making his Sunderland debut. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the AXA Training Centre before returning to the North East.
